This position reports to the Senior Director of Accounting.
This individual will primarily interact with the CFO, Accounting team, other internal departments within ANF and AutoNation external vendors, external auditors, and banks for which ANF maintains a relationship.
The successful candidate is self-directed in work prioritization and demonstrates superior judgment-making ability within the scope of the position’s areas of responsibility. The associate will be able to solve problems, and suggest solutions in accordance with their area of responsibility.
This position requires working onsite - full-time schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
· Accurately preparing and posting journal entries.
· Performing general ledger account and bank reconciliations.
· Preparing Financial Reports/Schedules.
· Preparing daily/monthly schedules for month-end, quarter-end and year-end close.
· Preparing audit schedules as needed.
· Assisting other Accounting staff as needed.
· Possible coverage of other functions within the Accounting Department.
· Assisting with team training and development.
· Preparing standard operating procedures and other training materials.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & LICENSES:
· Must be organized.
· Must have good communication skills (written and verbal).
· Must have great attention to detail.
· Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
· Must be able to multi-task while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
· Must be able to meet deadlines.
· Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. (Intermediate to Advanced Proficiency).
· Ability to interact positively with others and be a team player.
· Must be a fast learner, and able to take initiative to problem-solve.
· Must be able to take ownership of their work and should be able to work independently.
· Ability to perform multiple tasks while maintaining a positive attitude.
· Ability to take direction and provide feedback.
· Great Plains experience a plus.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
· 4-year College Degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
· 5-8 years of related Accounting experience.
· Previous experience in (auto) finance a strong plus but not required.
