Position Summary: The Medical Assistant Team Lead supports the daily operations of the clinical support staff while continuing to provide excellent patient care. This role serves as a resource and mentor to Medical Assistants, helping ensure consistent clinical workflows, strong teamwork, and high standards of patient service. The MA team lead will work closely with providers and clinic leadership to coordinate staffing, support training and onboarding, and help resolve day-to-day operational challenges. This position promotes a positive team culture, encourages professional development, and helps maintain efficient, patient-centered care throughout the clinic.
Essential Job Functions: • Provides leadership and day-to-day guidance to Medical Assistant staff while maintaining a collaborative team environment. • Performs standard Medical Assistant duties including patient intake, vital signs, documentation, medication preparation, and assisting providers during examinations and procedures. • Serves as a clinical resource for Medical Assistants by answering questions, supporting problem solving, and reinforcing clinic protocols and best practices. • Assists with onboarding and training of new Medical Assistants and supports ongoing skill development for current staff. • Helps coordinate daily MA workflows, room assignments, and coverage to support efficient patient flow. • Communicates effectively with providers, management, and support staff to address operational needs and improve clinic processes. • Monitors adherence to clinic policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. • Supports quality improvement initiatives and helps identify opportunities to improve patient care and operational efficiency. • Assists leadership with performance feedback, coaching, and development of Medical Assistant staff. • Maintains a positive, respectful team culture and models professionalism and strong patient-centered service. • Performs other duties as assigned to support clinic operations.
Qualifications: • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting preferred. • Demonstrated proficiency in core Medical Assistant skills including patient intake, vital signs, documentation, medication administration (as applicable), and assisting with procedures. • Strong understanding of clinic workflows, patient care standards, and safety protocols. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to support and collaborate with team members and providers. • Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment. • Ability to provide peer support, mentorship, and constructive feedback in a respectful and professional manner. • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. • Experience training or supporting new staff is preferred but not required. • Basic proficiency with the clinic’s electronic health record (EHR) system and standard office technology.
Hours: This is a full-time position scheduled during clinic operating hours. The final schedule will be determined based on clinic workflow needs and coordination with the selected candidate.
