SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified Lead Test Engineer.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Job Description: SEACORP is seeking a full-time Mid-LevelTest Engineer in Manassas, VA. The selected candidate will join a highlytalented team responsible for testing the CommonInfrastructure Services (CIS) of the Submarine Warfare Federated TacticalSystems (SWFTS). They will work with testers, softwaredevelopers, systems engineers and cyber experts from Navy, Warfare Center, andContractors to evaluate CIS releases for integration into SWFTS and deploymentto the fleet. The team ensures functional and technical specifications and standards are met, as well as investigate software/hardware interface problems. While this position will mostly have regular business hours, some overtime hours and travel may be required.
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Developing,modifying, and executing test plans, test procedures, and test reports based onuser stories.
- They are responsible for the test, evaluation, and design verification of the system under development as well as requirements traceability.
- Ideal candidates will have working knowledge of SWFTS and/or AN/BYG-1systems.
- Manage Problem Trouble Reports (PTRs) identified during testing.
- Draft technical test plans and reports.
- Job Responsibilities Include:
- Interface with customers for technical collaboration and system integration efforts.
- Foster a good working relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform test and evaluation efforts in support of system level testing.
- Develop and maintain test documentation and procedures.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software related bugs.
- Verify and Validate bug resolution.
- Manage hardware and software configurations.
- Install and maintain hardware and software.
Qualifications:
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field is required. Advanced submarine technical training (e.g. Navy “A” or “C” School) and a minimum of 5 years of Submarine Combat Control Weapon System experience can be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree.
Experience: 5+ years of test experience on submarine combat systems. Working knowledgeof AN/BYG-1 & Weapons Launch Consoles is required. Navy experience as aFire Control Technician (FT) or similar rating is desired.
Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Experience with Linux Operating systems, Jira and test automation is a plus.
- Experience with Agile and DevOps practices.
- Experience with working on teams in a geographically dispersed and virtual environment.
- Familiarity with Linux command line.
- Familiarity with computer system and switch architecture.
- Ability to work independently and in a team dynamic with a self-starter mindset.
- Ability to conduct troubleshooting and testing with procedures.
- Ability to support traveling to pier-side events to support navy submarine testing.
- Excellent communications skills and ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Critical thinker with a continuous learning mindset.
- Ability to work effectively with developers, clients, and leadership.
- Ability to coordinate with other software teams for the purpose of test scheduling and problem resolution.
- Must be able to obtain and hold a DoD Secret level clearance.

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Office & Computer Laboratories - Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting.
