Job Summary

The University of Kentucky, College of Nursing Undergraduate Program is seeking a Lecturer Title Series (non-tenure track) Lecturer. This position is a 9-month appointment with an anticipated Distribution of Effort of about 90% Teaching and Advising, and 10% Service/Professional Development which will be reviewed annually. We anticipate a start date of August 16, 2026.

This position, onsite and based in Lexington, KY, will assist and resource the Undergraduate BSN program within the College of Nursing. This position will provide clinical instruction to students in the Traditional and Accelerated BSN (ABSN) tracks and help develop, coordinate, teach, and evaluate nursing content and current nursing interventions to keep the curriculum up to date. This position requires expertise in medical surgical nursing, clinical nursing instruction, clinical coordination, and use of interactive and simulated technology in nursing education.

Additional responsibilities include mentoring students, participation in course and curriculum development, and service on college committees. Engagement in professional development, scholarship related to teaching, and membership in relevant professional organizations are expected. Ideal applicants will have clinical teaching experience with undergraduate health professions or nursing students and the ability to connect nursing concepts to clinical reasoning and patient care.

The required education and experience includes an earned Master’s Degree in Nursing. Doctorate (PhD, DNP, or related terminal degree) is preferred. An active unencumbered Kentucky license as a registered nurse and a minimum of two years of BSN nursing experience within the last five years required.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

• Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated clinical proficiency and clinical experience in medical surgical nursing.
• Experience in clinical simulation with low- and high-fidelity simulators preferred.
