Description
The Department of Spanish and Portuguese invites applications for one or more positions as part-time or full-time Lecturers in Spanish, expected to begin September 1, 2026, or during the 2026-27 academic year, with the potential for renewal depending on departmental need and satisfactory performance. Any appointments are subject to enrollments and may be for one or two semesters during the 2026-27 academic year.
Qualifications
Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English, and proven experience in teaching Spanish at the university level, are absolutely essential. Master’s degree or enrollment in a Ph.D. program required; Ph.D. or M.A. working toward Ph.D. preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in Linguistics, SLA, or Applied Linguistics, although other fields will also be considered when there is evidence of sustained experience teaching Spanish at the university level. Proven experience in coordination (course, level, or program) and curriculum development will be a plus.
