Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking a motivated Lending & Program Analyst to join and support Habitat Capital™ (HCap), a nationally certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), certified in 2017. Habitat Capital (formerly known as Habitat Mortgage Solutions) is a wholly-owned entity of HFHI and was created to serve our more than 1,000 US-based Habitat for Humanity affiliates.

HCap provides an array of financial services and products to Habitat affiliates to support their work as affordable mortgage originators, real estate developers, home-builders, sellers, and partners for housing and community solutions. To date, HFHI and HCap has provided over $400MM in capital to its US domestic affiliate network via unsecured enterprise-level, secured project-level, bridge and structured financing for affordable housing and community development projects as well NMTC allocation for homeownership initiatives.

Additionally, HCap seeks to develop and provide permanent mortgage financing products. HCap values creativity and flexibility in developing financial products for our customers and working with capital partners who share our mission.

About the Program and Role

The HCap Analyst Program ("the Program") is a new intentional effort between HFHI and HCap to recruit and train early-stage professionals to succeed in mission-driven financial services roles. In this two-year program, participants will support HCap's efforts to attract and deploy capital to create and increase the production of affordable housing and greater community development across the US.

The Analyst will possess and develop strong financial, entrepreneurial, program management and analytical skills while providing communications and research to advance housing and community development initiatives and support broader strategic initiatives and operations.

Reporting Structure & Core Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Lending & Programs, the Analyst's primary responsibilities will include:
-Supporting business development
-Loan origination
-Research and analysis
-Impact measurement and reporting
-Marketing and communications
-Providing client services
-Supporting new programmatic initiatives

Training & Program Structure
Participants will receive training designed to foster:
-Mission-alignment
-Understanding of the housing and community development finance sectors
-Development of technical skills (financial & analytical ) skills
-Ongoing professional enrichment

This 2-year program with the potential for a 3rd year to be evaluated at the end of year 2.

Location & Travel
These positions are strongly preferred to be based at our headquarters office in downtown Atlanta (Remote considered) and involves up to 5% travel within the US.

Marketing & Business Development 30%
· Assists in the development and execution of HCap’s business development strategy
· Supports pipeline development and management by identifying and responding to new business opportunities,
· Prepares and attends customer and partner meetings and assists with follow-up.
· Interface with various third parties, including partners, legal counsel, investors and consultants
· Co-develop and maintain accurate customer and deal pipeline lists, correspondence in loan management systems.
· Support content creation and preparation of marketing and communication collateral.

Loan Origination 30%
· Conduct and support financial assessment, due diligence and project feasibility assessment for potential borrowers
· Support the preparation and presentation investment committee memorandums for approvals
· Support the coordination of deal lifecycle from prospecting through closing – manage timelines, loan intake and due diligence collection/review, update loan management system and closing checklists

Research & Analysis 20%
· Support the creation and analysis of models, charts, tables, templates, maps and other resources related to lending and programmatic initiatives
· Conduct research and written analysis on current and prospective clients, partners, programs, specific geographies or sectors to support HCap’s capital raising (i.e. funding proposals) and deployment efforts
· Conduct market research, portfolio and impact data analysis related to HCap’s historical and future lending work in advancing affordable homeownership and racial equity
· Prospect and research funding sources, policy issues, legislative and budget updates relevant to CDFI, housing and community development industries.

Program Management & Operations 20%
· Develop presentations and reports for internal and external audiences as well as support training and educational materials for current and prospective clients and partners
· Data collection and programmatic/impact reporting for federal and private programs
· Engage in corporate-wide projects connected to programmatic initiatives and communication efforts (e.g. racial equity commercial lending strategy, climate resiliency, property acquisition fund, etc.)
· Support the maintenance of HCap databases, loan systems, webpages, manuals, files and other records as assigned.
· Other special projects/task as assigned

Minimum Requirements
· Employees in multiple divisions with different skillsets work together to achieve Habitat for Humanity International’s mission and common strategic goals.

Years of Related Experience
· 2+ years of relevant experience (including internships), preferably in affordable housing, community development, finance, real estate development, nonprofit management or similar.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Familiarity or interest in CDFI lending, tax credits, impact investing and/or mortgage financing. - Approaching Proficient
· Experience building models and data analysis - Approaching Proficient
· Fluency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) - Proficient
· Effective Communication and Presentation skills - Proficient

The actual salary offered for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including location, internal equity and the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience. HFHI offers a competitive, comprehensive benefits package that varies by country and typically includes vacation leave, sick leave, personal days, health insurance options, retirement plan contributions and life insurance. For work locations in the US, the hiring range for this position is $66,390 to $78,100.

Staff hired on a hybrid basis in the United States near an HFHI office location (Atlanta, Georgia / Washington, DC and Americus, GA), are required to report to the office on Tuesdays.
