Job Summary:
The Lending Quality Control Analyst supports the Consumer Credit Administration’s Quality Management program by performing real-time quality control reviews of consumer lending applications to ensure accuracy, regulatory compliance, and adherence to internal policies. This role is critical in identifying and correcting errors during the loan process, helping to maintain operational excellence and reduce risk exposure.
Working under the guidance of the Manager, Quality Management and Credit Administration Quality Control Officer, the Analyst collaborates with lending staff and underwriters to address deficiencies promptly, promote compliance with consumer lending regulations, and support continuous process improvements. This position is expected to develop internal audit expertise and grow into expanded responsibilities over time.
Essential Functions:
• Conduct live, in-process quality control reviews of consumer and small business loan applications and supporting documentation to verify compliance with applicable regulations and internal lending policies.
• Identify and communicate discrepancies or deficiencies to lending staff and underwriters, assisting in corrective actions to ensure timely and compliant loan processing.
• Maintain accurate records of quality control findings, contributing to reports and metrics tracking for the QA/QC program.
• Collaborate with the Quality Control Officer to identify recurring trends and recommend process enhancements to mitigate risks.
• Support the development and maintenance of QC tools, checklists, and resources to ensure alignment with current guidelines and regulatory standards.
• Stay current on federal and state consumer lending regulations and internal guidelines, applying updates promptly to quality control reviews.
• Exercise strict confidentiality and discretion when reviewing sensitive loan files, including employee accounts and internal audit findings.
• Maintain consistent communication with the Quality Control Officer and Manager of Quality Management to ensure alignment on priorities and workflows, shifting priorities as needed.
• Pursue internal audit certification as part of professional development and to support the expansion of QC program responsibilities, such as conducting control and corrective testing within Lending departments, and supporting audit readiness reviews and remediation tracking.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Strong knowledge of consumer lending guidelines, processes, and applicable federal and state regulations (TILA, ECOA/Reg B, FCRA, MLA, etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive information.
• Developing proficiency in internal audit practices and quality control methodologies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel (pivot tables, advanced functions); familiarity with loan origination systems preferred.
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to identify and resolve errors effectively.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; able to work with multiple stakeholders professionally and constructively.
• Strong organizational and time management skills; able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• 2–3 years of experience in consumer lending, loan processing, or quality control.
• Strong knowledge of lending guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Internal Auditor Certification through America’s Credit Unions (or ability to obtain within 18 months).
• Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion with sensitive information.
