May work at various locations on the University Campus and transport materials and/or equipment to such locations.

Performs physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and
movement of the whole body, such as required in climbing, lifting, balancing,
walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
Ability to work off scissor lift, aerial lift, scaffolds and ladders.

Job Summary
Reporting directly to the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, this position performs a wide range of duties relating to installing, removing, programming, testing, maintaining, and repairing equipment, as well as integrating systems associated with the districts access control, including computerized electronic security systems, mechanical locks, electronic network controlled door openers, pneumatic door closures, security alarms and security cameras; Performs skilled journey-level locksmith work in the installation, adjustment, maintenance, repair, and replacement of all types of locks and integrated security systems, access control devices, and other types of lock hardware such as latches, door checks, and panic bars, including changing of lock combinations; Collaborates with Auxiliary Services in the making of keys, including multi-level master keying hierarchical systems and master key asset inventory control systems; Utilizes knowledge of electronic access control systems, master controllers, door controllers and devices, including but not limited to power supplies, and retraction kits; Hangs and fits doors, including those with pneumatic mechanisms and large format interchangeable cores; Constructs and repairs various types of locks, locking devices, electronic keys, and access control devices; and Performs technical work in the repair, maintenance, and installation of electronic and mechanical lock equipment.
In addition, the Lock and Door Specialist applies practical engineering science and technology, including principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment; Designs, builds, fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs structures, fixtures, furniture, and other items, as needed; Installs, maintains, and repairs doors, windows, window hardware, floors, ceilings, partitions, office equipment, classroom fixtures/equipment, athletic fixtures/equipment, etc., adhering to accepted procedures and techniques of the carpenter trade.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
MS Windows/Office; KRONOS; and SAP.
Minimum of six years related experience performing skilled journey-level locksmith work in the installation, adjustment, maintenance, repair, and replacement of all types of locks and integrated security systems, access control devices, and other types of lock hardware such as latches, door checks, and panic bars, including changing of lock combinations, making of keys and keying hierarchies.
Knowledge of machines, tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance;
Demonstrated knowledge of all phases of construction and skill in the reading and interpretation of blueprints and drawings; building and general maintenance, knowledge of carpentry trade terminology, construction materials, tools, equipment, and building products.
