Overview

The logistics coordinator will be responsible for supporting the warehouse supervisor and warehouse manager by acting as an expert in shipping subject matter. This role will help manage shipping movements and processes throughout the Ajinomoto distribution network. This to include tendering freight to customers and distribution centers including inbound and outbound freight.



Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with third party logistics companies (3PL) with pick-ups and delivery of finished goods and raw materials.
  • Effectively communicate daily and as needed on operational updates verbally, via e-mail, and via telephone.
  • Coordinate Ajinomoto Dedicated Fleet / 3PL’s for customer deliveries and raw materials pick-ups.
  • Ability to use JD Edwards / Oracle based TMS (OTM)
  • Ability to Train Personnel and assist when help is required
  • Ability to assist plants with carrier related issues
  • Ability to assist Customer Service Group and planning team
  • Resolve issues with carriers and customers, both internal and external
  • Create, maintain the Master Bill of Lading
  • Create and Tender loads
  • Track and trace logistics shipments
  • Create, maintain the Carrier Data Base
  • Create reports that help assist transportation with cost savings
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Manage receiving and shipping appointments; log in proper spreadsheet or tracking system.
  • Develop and maintain distribution replenishment plan through constant monitoring and analysis for distribution centers (DC) based on demand forecasts, production plans, and prior sales history.
  • Ensure redeployments are executed to cover shortages
  • Manage raw material transfer orders acquiring carriers, pickup and delivery appointments.
  • Manage purchase order pickups, acquiring carriers and appointment times.
  • Ship confirms and release transfer orders.
  • Communicate inventory levels and STO status to the business daily.
  • Communicate all open orders weekly


Qualifications

Education, Certifications and Experience

An equivalent combination of experience and education will also be considered.

2 Year / Associate Degree preferred

Experience

2 to 3 years experience in logistics, transportation, warehouse, customs, international trade, manufacturing, and/or distribution.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience using Supply Chain systems, tools and applications preferred
  • Demonstrated personal accountability for results.
  • Detail oriented and self-starter
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Data Base applications.
  • Proficiency/working experience with JDE and OTM preferred
  • Ability to generate queries and organize data.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced, deadline type setting.
  • Ability to organize, interpret and disburse large amounts of information.
  • Ability to define problems, evaluate and find solutions based on collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Bilingual ( English-Spanish)

This job operates in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
