POSITION SUMMARY

The Machine Operator II is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of machines that produce products according to specifications, quality standards, and production goals in a manufacturing environment. The Machine Operator II may also need to assemble product using an ODM table.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  • Plan and implement the production of each product line utilizing the production schedule for the week/month
  • Assist with setting up material for the machine utilizing a hand or electric truck
  • Perform initial quality check and random checks during production of product
  • Obtain Quality signoff before starting full production run
  • Choose appropriate program to run the specific job for each production run
  • Operate corner cutting machine (Thomas Machinery and sheeter)
  • Operate machinery in a safe and efficient manner
  • Load corresponding material in each feeder
  • Unload completed material from feeder onto pallet or storage container(s)
  • Organize work area to allow for an efficient workflow for each job
  • Troubleshoot minor adjustments on machinery as needed
  • Clean the machine (glue) after each shift or set time scheduled by management
  • Maintain downtime log
  • Report all production utilizing RF gun and/or tablet/PC into ERP system
  • Report all scrap utilizing RF gun and/or tablet/PC into ERP system and discard as directed
  • Operate glue spreader
  • Assemble boards and paper using ODM casemaking system
  • Sew oversize material
  • Assist with injection molding processes and production of components
  • Follow and comprehend work orders and spec sheets related to operation of machine
  • Work under general supervision with the ability to be self-managed for an extended amount of time during the work shift
  • Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned


JOB REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE

Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred

Experience: Previous work experience required. Exposure to manufacturing environment preferred.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Basic math skills
  • Organization skills
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and management
  • Possess a positive work attitude and a willingness to carry out instructions
  • Ability to express and share knowledge and ideas in a team environment
  • Ability to multi-task
