Position Summary: The Medical Assistant (MA) supports physicians and clinical staff in delivering high‑quality patient care at the Orem Internal Medicine Office. This role includes both clinical and administrative duties, ensuring efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and an excellent patient experience.
Essential Job Functions: Clinical Duties • Room patients and obtain accurate vital signs, medical history, medications, and chief complaints. • Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during exams and procedures. • Perform tasks such as EKGs, specimen collection, point-of-care testing, injections, and wound care as permitted. • Maintain clean, organized, and stocked exam rooms in compliance with infection‑control standards. • Process laboratory specimens and communicate lab instructions to patients. • Conduct medication reconciliation and support chronic disease management. Administrative Duties • Schedule appointments, follow-up visits, and diagnostic tests. • Answer phone calls, relay messages, and facilitate patient outreach. • Assist with EMR documentation and ensure accuracy. • Support check‑in, check‑out, and insurance verification when needed.
Qualifications: – Preferred • Experience in internal medicine or primary care. • Familiarity with common EMR systems. • Understanding of chronic disease management such as diabetes, hypertension, and COPD. • Bilingual (Spanish) Skills & Competencies • Strong communication and patient‑service skills. • Excellent organization and multitasking abilities. • Accuracy in documentation and attention to detail. • Ability to work collaboratively with the clinical team. • Compassionate, patient‑centered approach to care. Physical Requirements • Ability to stand, walk, and assist patients for extended periods. • Ability to lift up to 25–40 lbs. as needed.
Hours: Monday 7:45a-5:30p - 6p Tuesday 7:45a-5:30p - 6p Wednesday OFF Thursday 7:45a-5:30p - 6p Friday 7:45a-5:30p - 6p ***Please note that the end time will vary depending on patient load for that day***
