Compensation

The base hourly rate for this position is $46.48.

The Maintenance Leader will supervise the Maintenance Technicians and ensure that safety, quality of work, communications, teamwork, team development, and proper accountability are carried out effectively. Plans, schedules, and coordinates maintenance activities that include preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, special projects, and service work. This includes the plant property, utilities, offices, and all production line equipment. Purchases necessary equipment for in-house repairs and sources contractors when necessary for non-routine tasks. Maintains the computerized maintenance management system for regulatory compliance, asset care and asset management. Monitors equipment performance for implementing corrective action plans and developing justification for future replacement projects.

Your Day to Day:

  • Supports the compliance of the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements of the plant (i.e. CAPP, PSM, OSHA) as well as contractor safety training and coordination
  • Understands the Management of Change (MOC) program and tracks changes on the change log. Participates / leads MOC's when necessary.
  • Team Building and Communications.
  • Works to improve team building within the maintenance department and between the departments.
  • Develop and maintain a respectful workplace environment.
  • Responsible for managing team expectations and supports strong employee engagement.
  • Supports communication within the department so all team members understand the priorities.
  • Completes and discusses the Maintenance pass-down at the shift huddles.
  • Participates in the team meetings, plant reviews as necessary.
  • Communicates to the plant team as needed on important events and issues.
  • Meets regularly with the team members to ensure work is carried out effectively and efficiently.
  • Conducts periodic job level performance reviews with team members and helps assess job level of team member with the Plant Engineer and Human Resource Manager. Helps team members gain knowledge and experience to increase their skill level.
  • Holds the team accountable for safety performance, quality of work product, efficiency and the team member expectations (Performance Accountabilities).

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a leader and participates in the chain of command in manager absence
  • Provides coaching to the maintenance technicians to ensure a positive working environment
  • Receives pass down from previous shift leads and immediately provides direction
  • Attends and participates in all meetings critical to role
  • Documents information pass down and pass up (sign offs)
  • Ensures all maintenance personnel understand and follow all plant policies as required.
  • Manages versatility program efforts
  • Provides coaching and encourages best practices
  • Displays accountability for actions
  • Celebrates success/recognition of employees
  • Participates in and leads RCCA’s on issues
  • Responsible for the training and signoffs of maintenance technicians.
  • Must be flexible to work all shifts as needed to cover OT, vacation, call ins, vacancies, etc.
  • Responsible for the maintenance work schedule.
  • Lead the weekly maintenance planning meetings.
  • Work with plant supervision to communicate the status of planned jobs, unplanned jobs waiting on parts, or unplanned jobs needing engineering or technical resources

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Previous experience in industrial maintenance
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Project Management experience
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to troubleshoot logic and controls issues utilizing PLC logic.
  • Understanding of SMRP best practices for maintenance organizations.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting background.
  • Solid Communication Skills (written/verbal)
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Decision making skills that are data driven
  • Ability to review technical data to make decisions
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Basic math skills

Additional Consideration For:

  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or SAP System Experience
  • Experience with PLC logic authoring and programming.
  • Practical knowledge of AutoCAD.

Physical Requirements:

The physical requirements of this position are: (these requirements are typical for most of our manufacturing roles)

  • The ability to stand for extended periods
  • The ability to manually lift, push or pull at least 50 pounds safely and with proper body mechanics, sometimes while in awkward positions.
  • Use of hands (repetitive motion, grabbing, feeling, sensing, pulling)
  • The ability to work safely in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful work environment
  • The ability to safely and effectively work in an often-dusty work environment that experiences a broad range of temperatures (very hot to very cold).
  • The ability to withstand the rigors of working a 12(or 8)-hour rotating shift schedule.
  • The ability to bend, stoop or kneel repetitively
  • The ability to reach or work above the shoulder
