The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for managing the maintenance department, ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting production operations. This role provides leadership, strategic planning, and oversight of maintenance personnel and programs to drive operational efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Manage and oversee daily operations of the maintenance department.
- Directly supervise maintenance technicians (minimum of 2+ full-time employees).
- Plan, assign, and prioritize maintenance work to meet production demands.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching, discipline, and development.
- Participate in hiring, termination, promotion, and compensation recommendations.
- Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Oversee troubleshooting of complex electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Coordinate major repairs, installations, and capital improvement projects.
- Manage maintenance budgets, inventory, and vendor relationships.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
- Recommend improvements to enhance equipment reliability and production efficiency.
- Monitor key maintenance metrics (downtime, MTTR, PM compliance, etc.).
- Other related duties as assigned.
Note: This position is primarily managerial in nature. Hands-on maintenance work is limited to training, oversight, or emergency support situations.
Supervisory Responsibility
- Direct supervision of maintenance personnel. Has authority or significant input into employment decisions.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.

Travel Requirements:
- Ability to travel out of state for training as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- May be required to stand, walk, sit, reach/pull/push with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel regularly.
- May lift or carry 50lbs. Weights exceeding 50lbs will require mechanical means to maneuver.
Work Environment:
- Exposure is frequent to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles - eye protection is required, and fumes, machine vibration, and noisy conditions, high temperatures, and occasional to a restricted space work area.
