SUMMARY
Oversees and coordinates activities of workers engaged in maintaining and repairing physical structures of buildings and maintaining grounds.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of industrial/commercial mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, plumbing, construction, automotive and HVAC systems, as well as janitorial or grounds keeping duties.
- Skills to make adjustments and/or repairs to the above systems, or in the case where construction or repairs require a specialist, direct the work to be done.
- Ability to troubleshoot systems and make repairs.
- Ability to guide employees in maintenance repairs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs or directs others, including external 3rd parties, in maintaining the facility’s mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, plumbing, automotive and HVAC systems.
- Maintains or directs others in maintaining company buildings, vehicles and grounds.
- Installs / sets up new equipment and conducts routine maintenance.
- Performs or oversees performance of preventative maintenance on all facility equipment and vehicles.
- Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Inspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards.
- Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to support production schedules.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Confers with Maintenance Manager to coordinate maintenance activities.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner

- Reports for work on time as scheduled and ready to perform.

SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Accountable for all concerns within their scope of work and has the absolute responsibility to remedy, report and/or communicate any issue to managers, supervisors, safety or environmental managers as appropriate.
- Follows all safe work practices, watches out for fellow workers, and keeps their work area clean.
- Ensures area remains compliant regarding hazardous waste, non-hazardous waste and universal waste.
- The following personal protection equipment is required and must be worn while working in the manufacturing facility or customers’ facilities:
- Company approved safety glasses or goggles
- Company approved steel ESD toe shoes.
- Appropriate hand protection.
- Ear protection in designated areas.
- Appropriate clothing.
- Other safety equipment as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

- EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: One year certificate from a college or technical school, and three to five years related experience and/or training. Must have a heavy emphasis on mechanical and electrical training such as machine shop, and electrical/electronic repair.
- LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and advanced blueprint reading required. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE SKILLS: None.
- EQUIPMENT: Overhead and jib cranes, forklift, weld machines, electrical testers, vacuum gauges, power and hand tools.
