The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in public accounting, preferably with Big 4 experience and a CPA. Someone who has ¿cut their teeth¿ in the accounting world will be able to accelerate their learning curve and quickly add value across PNM¿s operational and financial functions.

This role oversees all OEM responsibilities for New Mexico Operations, as well as close partnership with the Accounting and Budget groups. A background that blends operational awareness with financial rigor will be especially beneficial.

Key areas of responsibility include:

HR tracking and workforce-related operational oversight

Financial tracking, reporting, and cross-functional coordination

Support for T&D (Transmission & Distribution) and Generation operational teams

Ensuring alignment between operational performance, budget expectations, and organizational goals

A candidate with both accounting discipline and operational fluency will be best positioned to succeed in this role.

Manager Business Operations (OEM for NM Ops)

$94,831 - $128,022 - $161,213

SUMMARY:
Leads the commercial and industrial (C&I) large customer segment organization and overall economic and business development activities of the company. Responsible for implementing PNM strategic objectives through a concise customer marketing vision and supporting initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages the C&I customer engagement team and programs in consideration of customer needs, industry and market trends, business goals and program offerings.
Oversees segment and account planning, engagement events, education seminars, customer energy usages trends, scenario planning, and customer feedback
Coordinates the activities and provides feedback to segment managers, and ensures appropriate training for segment managers, segment analyst and assigned personnel.
Works with new and existing businesses to assist in making location decisions including expansion of existing facilities.
Serves as spokesperson and advocate for corporate positions on economic development policy or major end-use customers on Company issues with key stakeholders.
Ensures input to executive leadership and other PNM internal functions such as Customer Service, NM Operations, Governmental Affairs, Pricing, Regulatory and Investor Relations to support external efforts, such as grid investments, regulatory filings, tariff design and customer energy usage trends and scenario planning.
Develops long-term customer partnerships to demonstrate PNM value and promote customer advocacy.
Acts as a resource for external stakeholders and employees on industry and Company economic development issues.
Accountable for departmental budget.

COMPETENCIES:
In-depth knowledge of electric utility operations, programs and service offerings, industry trends, and state and federal regulatory requirements.
Experience should include familiarity with electric industry technologies related to electrification, energy efficiency and energy storage.
Ability to demonstrated strength in strategic and analytical thinking.
Experience managing vendor partnerships.
Strong project management abilities.

QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, marketing, or related area of concentration with 7-9 years industrial or commercial customer relations/account management or professional business experience in either economic or community development. Including 2 years Management experience.

Master's degree is preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must possess a current, legally valid driver's license and meet the company's driving record requirements.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises a team of C&I customer segment managers, analysts and economic development professionals. Hires, trains, evaluates, motivates, develops, coaches, rewards, and terminates employees. Designs, organizes, prioritizes, schedules, and leads work assignments. Fosters positive working relationships with staff and other departments.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Exceptional business communication skills, with demonstrated ability to communicate complex messages to diverse audiences in both written and verbal forms.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
Strong skills in Microsoft Office suite.

ANALYSIS AND PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY:
Fully qualified candidates will possess vendor management expertise. This individual will possess a senior level presence with experience interacting with executive level leaders including customers, government officials, media, special interest groups, employees and community partners. Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts and service agreements preferred.

DECISION MAKING:
Responsible for decisions related to the relationship management concerning C&I customers and marketing customer programs, customer campaign communications and developing working relationships.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to sit up to 2/3 of the time and to stand, walk, and stoop up to 1/3 of the time. Good vision and ability to adjust focus is required. Manual dexterity is required. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Office environment with travel to customer locations.
