
Manager, Channel Programming & Planning
Summary of Position
The Manager, Channel Programming and Planning (SVOD and FAST) is responsible for shaping and executing the programming vision across streaming platforms. This role curates dynamic, audience-driven content lineups that reflect each channel’s unique voice and brand identity. Working at the intersection of creativity and analytics, the Manager strategically selects and merchandises titles to drive engagement, retention, and growth.
Partnering closely with Research, Marketing, Creative, Partner Relations, and Operations, this role ensures each channel delivers a cohesive and compelling viewer experience. The ideal candidate combines a passion for storytelling with a deep understanding of audience insights, platform strategies, and emerging trends in the evolving SVOD and FAST landscape.
Responsibilities
- Curate standout programming lineups that align with each channel’s voice, audience, and brand promise.
- Analyze content avails to strategically select titles that drive engagement and viewer retention.
- Merchandise content for maximum impact, from themed stunts and marathons to tentpole events and seasonal spotlights.
- Collaborate with Partner Relations to position channels for optimal platform visibility and promotional opportunities.
- Partner with Research to track performance, interpret audience insights, and evolve programming strategies accordingly.
- Stay ahead of content trends, audience behavior, and competitive programming in the SVOD and FAST landscape.
- Develop programming calendars that balance data-driven strategy with creative instinct.
- Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Creative, and Operations teams to bring channel strategies to life.
- Ensure each channel maintains a consistent, compelling, and on-brand viewer experience across platforms.
- Contribute ideas that elevate the overall programming vision and help grow audience reach and watch time.
Qualifications and Skills
- 5+ years of experience in channel programming, content planning, or scheduling within television, SVOD, or FAST environments.
- Proven ability to curate and merchandise content lineups that drive engagement, retention, and audience growth.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using data and performance insights to guide programming strategy.
- Deep understanding of streaming platform ecosystems, content metadata, and scheduling workflows.
- Creative sensibility with an instinct for audience trends, storytelling, and brand alignment.
- Exceptional communication, organization, and collaboration skills; comfortable working cross-functionally with Marketing, Creative, Research, and Operations teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and long-term strategic focus.

Compensation
$85,000 - $90,000
