Job Description:

The Role

The Manager, Global Corporate Actions role is designed to offer production support within the Global Corporate Actions Team which is responsible for process management associated with process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration. Specific responsibilities include supporting complex event management, project management and improvement initiatives, driving operational excellence, intake implementation including fund event oversight and influencing change across multiple business units. The role will interact with many groups within the Fidelity organization and effectively represent the business to customers and business partners.

  • Manage end-to-end delivery of projects related to operational efficiency, automation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Recognize high risk items and call out those items or seek assistance to minimize loss to either the shareholder and/or Fidelity
  • Provide functional and technical area expertise, oversight, problem resolution, training, analysis and reporting as needed across a variety of group responsibilities
  • Identify areas of risk and work to mitigate them
  • Handle critical issues from all lines of Asset Management
  • Contribute to process and develop creative solutions
  • Ability to partner with cross-sectional teams (Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and Front Office teams) to implement process improvements.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree encouraged, but not required
  • 5+ years in project management within financial services or operations
  • Subject matter expert knowledge of securities and monetary transactions with associated financial services industry systems, standards, and regulatory conditions
  • Working knowledge of downstream impacts, workflows and requirements of internal and external business partners and systems applications
  • Exposure to corporate actions or securities operations is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Sharp judgment and proven ability logically identify, isolate and resolve probl
  • Ability to lead independently and in a team environment under very critical deadlines
  • Solid understanding of project and relationship management
  • Ability to make decisions with limited/minimal oversight or guidance
  • Foundational knowledge in digital tools and processes (SQL and PowerBi) encouraged, but not required

The Team

This team is responsible for all aspects of corporate action research and processing for assets across the approximately $2 trillion worth of assets under management, including actions cumulatively affecting securities worth in excess of $1 billion at a given time. The Global Middle Office acts as a servicing center for FMR Co.'s trading desks globally, facilitating the confirmation and settlement of security and currency transactions with brokers and custodian banks, and providing daily cash estimates to Trading. It is also responsible for coordinating corporate action executions, ensuring the collection of income to the Funds, resolving position differences and facilitating securities lending activities.
