POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager of Pricing and Estimating manages pricing strategies and cost estimates for manufacturing projects across government and commercial sectors, working hands-on with production, purchasing, and inventory teams to develop accurate bids and ensure timely, cost-effective execution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE

  • Develop and maintain accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
  • Research market rates, vendor quotes, and historical data to support accurate pricing.
  • Prepare proposals and bid packages for customer review.
  • Collaborate with production, procurement, and scheduling teams to gather data and validate estimates.
  • Work with the Product and Project Manager to accurately reflect Envision’s operational processes and production expenses as detailed in the Build of Materials (BOMs).
  • Ensure pricing aligns with approved customer agreements and project scope.
  • Maintain technical records and documentation for estimating and pricing activities.
  • Use software tools to generate reports, charts, and data visualizations.
  • Support vendor quote analysis and ongoing supplier relationship management.
  • Other special projects that support the profitability of the organization through the development, implementation, and maintenance of Envision’s estimating and pricing program.
  • Travel up to 50% between Wichita, KS and Dallas, TX.


Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or Supply Chain preferred; equivalent relevant experience accepted in lieu of degree.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on estimating and pricing experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Supervisory or team lead experience preferred but not required.


Knowledge/Skills:

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and cost drivers.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Sales and customer service knowledge and experience preferred.


Licenses/Certifications: Associate Estimating Professional (AEP) or Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) – American Society of Professional Estimators preferred.
