We are currently looking for a Regional Sales Manager to join our team in Chicago Heights, IL. This position requires travel to plants and customer locations.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Sales, the Regional Sales Manager is responsible to sustain and profitably manage the growth of the business through existing and new product lines and maintaining and building strong customer relationships.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

SAFETY:

  • Work within all safety policies on site and at customer locations.
  • Follow all railroad safety procedures when on railway property.

QUALITY:

  • Ensure pricing recommendations are accurate and margins are acceptable, based on current cost of manufacturing and materials.
  • Ensure information on reports and requests for information is current and accurate.
  • Contribute to the marketing of the Nortrak brand and its products.


ON-TIME DELIVERY:

  • Ensure inquiries from Nortrak plants and customers are addressed timely.
  • Ensure all reports and requests for information are completed in a timely manner.
  • Work with Central Operations to assess current capacity and establish appropriate commitment dates for customers.
  • Work with Project Managers to monitor on-time delivery commitment dates.

COST:

  • Identify opportunities to integrate product and service offering to maximize margins.
  • Oversee management of scope changes to ensure Nortrak’s commercial interests are protected.
  • Prepare budgets and monthly forecasts.
  • Manage the bid process to ensure accurate and competitive bid proposals.
  • Develop market intelligence.
  • Negotiate with customers to control late penalties. Identify and mitigate exposures to penalties (e.g. Liquidated Damages and "Buy America").

PEOPLE:

  • Maintain excellent internal and external customer relationships.
  • Liaise between Nortrak Central Operations, Engineering, and external customers and suppliers.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.


Other Duties as Assigned.


ENVIRONMENTAL:

  • Adhere to Nortrak's Environmental Procedures, Practices and Policies.


QUALITIFCATIONS:

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field is preferred.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 10 years operational and/or technical experience in a similar industry is preferred.
  • five years related sales experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in budget control and profit and loss accountability.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Must be customer focused, details oriented and results oriented.
  • Sound knowledge in MS Office standard programs- e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, and Access.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is an asset.


PHYSCIAL DEMANDS:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer; occasional standing and walking for your scheduled shift.
  • Must remain stationary for extended periods and move throughout the building to access files.
  • Must work effectively in a noisy environment.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment or objects up to 20-25 pounds occasionally.
  • Visual requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasional travel required, involving walking, standing, sitting, and driving for varying durations.
  • Frequent use of hands and arms for dialling phones and using a computer mouse.

SALARY:

  • $100,000/year - $120,000/year
