The Manager, GMNS Strategic Risk, is part of the Risk & Business Operations team within Global Strategy, Operations & Performance (GSOP). GSOP serves as a Center of Excellence for Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS), driving enterprise-level strategy, performance management, and operational execution.

About the Role
The GMNS Strategic Risk team is a project-based group responsible for addressing key business questions that integrate strategic insight, detailed planning, and disciplined execution with a focus on delivering risk mitigation, remediation, and operational resilience across GMNS.

The Manager will be responsible for leading key initiatives and overall management of these cross-functional projects to ensure compliance, process rigor, and readiness to meet evolving regulatory and operational demands.


The Manager will report to the Director, GMNS Strategic Risk - International.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end execution of strategic risk, regulatory remediation, and operational resilience initiatives impacting global GMNS markets.
  • Translate evolving regulatory expectations and risk themes into structured project plans, governance frameworks, and actionable business solutions.
  • Establish and drive clear governance structures, progress tracking, issue escalation, and executive reporting to ensure transparency and timely delivery of mitigation actions.
  • Partner across 1st and 2nd Lines of Defense, GCO, and regional market stakeholders to align on risk priorities, resolve trade-offs, and ensure sustainable control enhancements.
  • Synthesize complex inputs (regulatory guidance, control gaps, operational constraints, market nuances) into clear recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Create structure in ambiguous environments by identifying key risks, defining critical questions, and prioritizing initiatives based on impact and feasibility.
  • Support change management efforts to embed durable process, governance, and control improvements across international markets.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in risk management, regulatory remediation, compliance, or complex cross-functional program management within financial services or a similarly regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale, multi-stakeholder initiatives in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Strong understanding of operational risk, regulatory expectations, governance frameworks, and remediation lifecycle management.
  • Proven ability to operate independently with a high degree of ownership, urgency, and accountability for outcomes.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience developing executive-ready materials and translating complex regulatory topics into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Strong relationship management skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across lines of defense and levels of seniority.
  • Analytical mindset with comfort using data and dashboards to guide decisions and track performance.
  • High intellectual curiosity, resilience, and learning agility in fast-evolving regulatory and operational environments.

Salary Range: $89,250.00 to $150,250.00 annually + bonus + benefits
