About the role:
Responsible for identification and elimination of waste in the production process so that quality, manufacturing flexibility and throughput along with operating costs are continually improved. Additionally, the role will be responsible for the implementation of new equipment and processes to support the growth and improvement within all processes.
What you will do:
- Support production: Process Engineer Change Orders (ECOs); develop process documentation; Line balancing; trouble shooting; time study, etc.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to improve safety, quality time, and cost for the MLA organization.
- Use problem solving techniques to determine root cause, countermeasures, permanent and preventative corrective actions.
When & Where:
- Work Environment is 50/50 spilt office and manufacturing production floor
- This is an on-site role
- Starting hours between 6-8 am
- Occasional Saturday may be required, depending on project load and production.
- Limited travel, occasional supplier, customer, or benchmarking visit.
What you need to have:
- 7-10 years of experience within a related field
- Bachelor's Degree with an engineering focus (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, etc.)
- Organizational skills - Well organized, disciplined, and self motivated
- Working knowledge of Six Sigma problem solving, DMAIC process, 8D method, and PDCA cycle
- Communication - Communicates well (written &verbal) with colleagues and customers
- Project Management - Has excellent ability to manage projects and new product introductions
- Complex Problem Solving - Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Experience with fixture design and measuring devices
- Physical Demands: light; limited lifting; Will be working in the manufacturing environment
What would be nice to have:
- Proficient in engineering software’s such as NX Ideas, Creo, and AutoCAD
- Knowledge of business software’s such MRP/ERP. Microsoft AX Dynamics preferred
- Industrial Engineering skills in time and motion study, line balance, and capacity planning
- Positive attitude
- Understanding of customer satisfaction and business skills
