Overview
The Manufacturing & Test Engineer works in a hands-on environment supporting the operations team to provide technical support for production. You will be responsible for design and build new electro-mechanical test equipment for new products, and maintenance, repairs, obsolescence planning and continuous improvement on existing test equipment with a strategic approach to automation where applicable.
Responsibilities
- Quickly develop a thorough understanding of the company’s products and all test requirements (primarily: rotary actuators, hydraulic valves, and pressure and temperature switches).
- Design, develop and build new automated electro-mechanical manufacturing and production test equipment for in-house use.
- Create electrical schematic/2D Electrical Drawings, mechanical drawings and part selection to aid in purchase of components and materials.
- Collaboration with Supply Chain to find reliable vendors to assist, and write software to accomplish the design and development of automated test equipment.
- Modify existing test equipment hardware and/or software to accommodate new or changed requirements.
- Service, maintain and repair test equipment. Upgrade or replace old/obsolete systems.
- Write comprehensive statements-of-work and evaluate/select vendors to perform test equipment development and fabrication.
- Work on Electrical Panel/Controllers/Circuit boards of high pressure pneumatic and hydraulic systems (up to 10,000 PSI).
- Work on test equipment that operates at high temperatures (up to 600° F).
- Write and perform test system validation and calibration procedures to AS9100 requirements.
- Maintain test system documentation to AS9100 requirements.
- Manufacturing engineering capable to recommend, implement, and improve machining process flows and tools.
- Assisting machinists with program prove out.
- Be able to implement quick change over set up tools and process adequate process
- Establishing standard times for setup and run of each operation on assigned parts
- Participates in Engineering design reviews on new products and design changes for Design for Manufacture and Design to Cost. Reviews engineering drawings for manufacturing datum’s, key characteristics and tolerance stack up. Works closely with engineering to ensure the design concepts and specifications support the most efficient manufacturing methods and techniques.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred)
- Mechanical design experience is required
- Hardware testing experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience collaborating and interacting with cross functional teams
- Ambitious problem solver
- Travel up to 5%
- Lift up to 40lbs
