Job Summary
Aurex is seeking a seasoned Marketing Specialist to execute high-impact marketing initiatives in support of our defense and aerospace programs. This role is responsible for developing and delivering compelling content, managing tradeshow presence, and producing marketing materials that accurately reflect our technical capabilities and mission focus.
The ideal candidate brings prior experience in the defense industry, understands the nuances of marketing within a government contracting environment, and can translate complex technical concepts into clear, credible messaging. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role requiring strong writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate with speed and precision. This position is based at Aurex headquarters in Huntsville, AL, reports to the Head of Marketing, and requires periodic travel to tradeshows (less than 10%).
Key Responsibilities
- Write, edit, and distribute press releases, announcements, and external communications aligned with company messaging and compliance requirements
- Plan, coordinate, and execute trade shows, conferences, and industry events, including logistics, materials, and on-site support
- Develop and produce marketing collateral, including brochures, presentations, datasheets, and digital content
- Collaborate with engineering, business development, and leadership teams to accurately represent technical capabilities and program messaging
- Support brand consistency across all materials and platforms, ensuring alignment with Aurex voice and positioning
- Manage timelines and deliverables across multiple concurrent marketing initiatives
- Coordinate with external vendors, designers, and partners as needed
- Ensure all communications comply with applicable public release, security, and export control requirements
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience:
- 5–10 years of marketing or communications experience, preferably within the aerospace, defense, or government contracting industry
Knowledge:
- Understanding of defense industry environment, including customer expectations, trade show landscape, and communication sensitivities
- Familiarity with public release processes, including coordination with Contracts and Security teams
- Working knowledge of branding, messaging strategy, and content development
Technical Proficiency:
- Strong writing and editing skills with demonstrated experience producing press releases and technical marketing content
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Experience with marketing tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar platforms preferred
- Familiarity with website content management systems and LinkedIn or other professional platforms
Soft Skills:
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Self-starter with a bias toward action and accountability
- Clear, concise communicator with sound judgment
How You Will Be Rewarded
The salary for this role is $75,000 - $85,000 annually. We offer a comprehensive total rewards approach to compensation, providing incentives and benefits that extend far beyond the base salary.
