Facility Services, Inc. (FSI) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Material Expeditor to support one of our strategic partners in delivering critical Base Operations Support Services at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
Job Summary
The Material Expeditor coordinates and expedites flow of material and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules or department supervisor's priorities.
Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Reviews production schedules and confers with department supervisors to determine material required or overdue and to locate material. Requisitions from vendor material and establishes delivery sequences to departments according to job order priorities and anticipated availability of material. Pulls material from stock and issues as required. Compiles perpetual production records to locate material in process of production using both manual and computerized systems. Arranges for in-plant transfer of materials to meet production schedules. Arranges and oversees material transport with individual department supervisors. Receives and stores materials and supplies using hand trucks, carts and forklifts. Interfaces with lead and peers directly to ensure proper coordination and maximizing production. Identification of potential problems, troubleshooting and participating in analysis of future process improvements.Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in a receiving/warehouse environment is preferred.
Must Maintain or gain Forklift certification within 30 days of employment.
Will also have knowledge and general proficiency in GFEBS, Maximo, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other required software that is used at the job site.
Experience in O&M to include support of a work force that is responsible for O&M and repair of all facility systems, subsystems, and selected equipment typically found in a Base Operating Services contract.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Must be able to pass a company drug screen and background check. Must possess a valid state driver's license and insurable driving record.
