Position Purpose

To safely unload, store, move and control inventory of raw material and finished goods. Fill customer orders and inter-company orders in a timely and efficient manner.

Essential Duties

  • Load and unload material from truck using appropriate material handling equipment.
  • Unload, separate and check-in product off of purchase orders.
  • Replenish and put-away product from incoming freight and container shipments.
  • Efficiently move product within the warehouse and to/from other departments using correct material handling equipment and following safety regulations.
  • Accurately fill customer orders using an RF scanner and warehouse equipment.
  • Safely operate all warehouse equipment including but not limited to a stock picker, forklift, and manual and electric pallet jacks.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts by performing cycle counts, locations audits and consolidations.
  • Perform daily/ shift inspections on equipment and document any maintenance/safety issues on back of inspection sheet.
  • Develop a working knowledge of product lines, warehouse layout, Quality Control requirements, packaging and material handling processes.
  • Re-arrange equipment, furniture, shelving and racking as needed and assigned.
  • Perform warehouse cleaning functions such as sweeping, yard maintenance, rack assembly, pallet disposal, and other tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to read, write in English to follow basic instructions, and do basic arithmetic functions.
  • Must be able to learn to use an RF scanner, calculator and computer.
  • Previous warehouse and forklift experience preferred.
  • Must be able to use and operate the following equipment; reach truck, forklift, stock picker, electric pallet jack, pallet jack, hand trucks, and ladder.
  • Must successfully complete classroom instruction regarding the handling, storage, and treatment of hazardous material and all pertinent regulations. Must complete additional on-the-job training; when deemed necessary or when new material or regulations are introduced.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Able to walk and/or stand for the duration of the assigned shift.
  • Able to function in temperatures that range from -10 degrees Fahrenheit to +110 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Able to lift 30 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Able to use arms to reach up and/or out over head and shoulders, push, pull, and bend and lift 30 lbs. frequently.
  • Able to bend, twist, squat and stoop regularly.
  • Requires the ability to climb a ladder and work from the ladder, ability to work 20 feet in the air from a stock picker.
  • Must be mentally alert to work in a warehouse with lift truck equipment and pedestrians.
