Job Summary

Jefferson Community and Technical College is seeking a full-time instructor in Mathematics. Courses being taught range from transitional/developmental mathematics through Calculus. Instructors may be expected to teach on multiple campuses for both day and evening courses, in a variety of delivery modes including fully in-person, fully online, and hybrid.

Job Duties:

General responsibilities include teaching, maintaining office hours, engaging in student success and retention activities, and utilizing an online course LMS such as Blackboard for instruction, communication, managing grades, and feedback.
Other duties include but are not limited to:
• Academic advising
• Course and curriculum development
• Internal and external community service
• Educational leadership and professional development.
Ability to teach a broad range of mathematics content as stated in the description. Proficient use of technology and willingness to adapt when necessary. Efficient in explaining mathematical concepts and patience for students that struggle with the content.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Mathematics, or Master’s Degree with 18 graduate credit hours in Mathematics.

Preferred Qualifications:

Teaching experience at the college level and online preferred, with an understanding of different teaching methodologies to address various learning styles. Completion of a Master’s level Statistics course preferred.
