Job Details
DescriptionThe Medical Receptionist provides customer service and clerical support within a fast paced department. A certification in Clinical Medical Assisting for the purpose of order entries is preferred.
- Schedules and relays information to patients for laboratory tests, medical examination, and consultations
- Informs patients of cots of care being provided, and guides them to appropriate resources for further information, guidance, or assistance.
- May assist in patient and family education by providing educational material and general health information to patients and family members.
- Answers telephones, screens callers, and relays messages.
- Maintains calendar and schedules return appointments.
- Electronic access to email, HER, calendars, and other basic office support software.
- Uses automated systems to access, enter, and edit patient information.
- Other duties as assigned/necessary.
AS EXPECTED WITH ALL HEALTHCARE POSITIONS, MUST ADHERE TO HIPAA/OSHA/BLOODBORNE PATHOGEN REGULATIONS AND MAINTAIN ASSOCIATED WORKPLACE TRAININGS
