The Meter Shop Technician’s primary role is to support operational activities to fulfill customer orders and achieve operational targets while performing duties in a safe and organized manner. The main functions that contribute to these goals will include, but not be limited to organizing material, cleaning of meters, inspecting, calibrating, and retrofitting electric meters for residential and commercial uses.
A successful candidate will demonstrate an aptitude for quality control, process adherence and improvement, basic electrical operations, warehousing, inventory, and intermediate computer skills. We are looking for an energetic professional who does not mind wearing multiple hats.
Primary responsibilities:
Perform assembly, cleaning, programming, testing, calibration, and packaging of watt hour meters.
Sorting of incoming materials
Must have firm understanding of mechanical/electrical principles and basic electrical wiring and electrical troubleshooting
Order fulfillment tasks
(Assigned by Hiring Manager) is the standard work schedule, however depending on orders and critical needs, overtime, weekends and/or 12-hour shifts may be necessary.
Ability to be on feet all day and perform repetitive motions and ability to multi-task
Quality Control Focused, Safety minded, Positive attitude and desire to grow
Agile and flexible to quickly pivoting tasks to meet last minute requirements.
Ingenuity to be creative and work around obstacles.
Ability to drive company vehicle.
Open to working at multiple locations within a 25-mile radius.
Ability to operate a multimeter and analyze electronic components using tool.
Ability to use hand tools (powered and non-powered)
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in heat, cold, and wet weather.
Must be of professional manor and have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Additional requirements:
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Knowledge/Experience related to fabrication is a plus.
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, and use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls. Various tasks also require standing for long periods.
Candidate must submit to and pass pre-employment physical agility testing, drug and alcohol screening.
Rate of pay: $22.00 per hour
