This position will be hired as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) Level II or III depending on experience.
Job Summary:
The Mortgage Loan Originator originates mortgage loans for both our in-house portfolio & secondary market, as well as cross sells other bank products. The MLO actively solicits new residential mortgage business and sells Bankers Trust products to meet established loan quality and production goals.
Primary Functions and/or Responsibilities:
Business Development:Maintains professional presence with centers of influence and members of referral communities, i.e. realtors, builders, non-profit housing organizations, attorneys, appraisers, and bank colleaguesMaintains and monitors pipeline reports to ensure volume and quality are consistent with the Bank's goals and objectives, policies and proceduresDevelops leads on potential loan sources for business development and loan solicitation purposesStays abreast of trends and developments in the local real estate market and competitive environment, as well as changes in rules and regulationsProduction Requirements & Cross Selling:Responsible for cross-promotion of all Bankers Trust products and services (including, but not limited to, Retail Banking products)Maintains minimum production for mortgage loan originations in accordance with Smart GoalsPromotes and delivers quality internal and external customer serviceObtains, verifies and completes required information and documentation necessary for compliance and processing of loan applicationsCollaboration with Team Members:Collaborates with colleagues to assure excellence in products and servicesMonitors overall customer interaction and interfaces with all parties involved on each individual loan from application to closing. This includes, but is not limited to, credit counseling to and pre-qualifying potential home buyersObtains applications and then partners with processors to ensure complete and compliant loan packagesMarketing:Assists in formalizing and implementing sales strategies and marketing approachesResponsible for expanding referral networks through marketing and prospecting activitiesPerforms other duties as assignedEducation and/or Experience:
Mortgage Loan Originator IICollege Degree preferred or high school diploma/GED with equivalent experienceAt least four years of previous mortgage lending experience preferredPrevious book of business over the past three years requiredActive NMLS in good standing without previous actions on recordMortgage Loan Originator IIICollege Degree preferred or high school diploma/GED with equivalent experienceAt least six years of previous mortgage lending experience requiredPrevious book of business over the past three years requiredActive NMLS in good standing without previous regulatory actions on record is requiredSpecific Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
Knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, Rural Development and jumbo guidelines and general underwriting policies and guidelines for all investors and agenciesKnowledge of all Federal and State mortgage regulations, including but not limited to, HMDA, TRID, Reg B, Reg C, Reg Z, and RESPABenefits
