
MRI Technologist Lead
Position Summary
Our physicians and associates work together to ensure that patients receive the highest quality of care. The role of the MRI Lead is to work collaboratively with physicians, providers, nurses and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care with a focus on patient experience, safety, quality and efficiency. The MRI Lead facilitates the interdisciplinary support and collaboration within and across care teams to ensure our patients receive high quality care in a timely manner.
Under general supervision in a care center setting, the MRI Lead oversees, schedules, and coordinates the day-to-day activities of an assigned team of MRI Techs, ensuring adherence to the practice regulations, stated medical protocols and procedures and following OSHA/WISHA/other compliance and regulatory guidelines.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The key duties and responsibilities of the MRI Lead include, but are not limited to:
- In collaboration with other medical providers supervise daily Imaging Care activities; schedule MRI associates to ensure full coverage of patient care needs, effective services and time efficiency.
- Fulfill environmental responsibilities and provide oversight as assigned which may include setting up instruments for imaging procedures, cleaning rooms and instruments and equipment as well as following OSHA Guidelines for medical practice.
- On-board and train new MRI associates on their duties including philosophy of care, patient flow and imaging competencies
- Provide encouragement and recognition of excellence in performance; monitor team performance from an imaging perspective, identify issues, work through resolutions and provide both informal and formal feedback.
- Ensure daily and weekly duties are completed as assigned, including responding to patient messages and imaging treatment progresses.
- Oversee quality assurance activities and compliance with operational standards.
- Participate in program development and implementation of operating policy and procedures.
- Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies and supervises inventory of supplies including periodically reviewing exam rooms to ensure they are stocked appropriately.
- Serve as a resource on behalf of management and other MRIs by handling questions and interpersonal conflict resolution in a positive and objective manner.
- Report to Clinic Manager at structured, designated times as well as on an as needed basis in order to review complications, questions and/or concerns which may have arisen.
- Ensure strict confidentiality of all records
- Fulfill other organizational responsibilities as assigned which may include: general clerical duties and MRI responsibilities; respecting/promoting patient rights; responding appropriately to emergency codes; sharing problems relating to patients and/or staff with the clinic manager/management team quickly
Education/Experience
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Board Certified with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in MR or MR Certified through ARMRIT
- Current Washington State Radiologic Technologist license
- Musculoskeletal MRI exam experience required
- Prefer 2-3 years of experience leading in a physician office and ambulatory MRI department, less experience will be considered
- Able to operate SIGNA Explorer 1.5T version 25.1 MRI Scanner
