Physical Requirements

The physical requirements of this position include: occasionally lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to 50Ibs; occasionally standing or walking with objects up to 25Ibs; regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time with regular repetitive motions (such as typing); utilizing mouse, keyboard, and phone for portions of the day. Ability to travel to various locations on and off-campus for meetings, to provide service and install equipment .



Shift

Primarily days (i.e. Monday- Friday, 8am-5pm) Please be aware that as an exempt position, job duties may occasionally require additional time in the evenings, nights and/or weekends to accomplish work goals in excess of 40 hours per week.



Job Summary

The Network Engineer Ill is part of an operations team responsible for supporting network operations for the University of Kentucky and UKHC enterprise network which includes multiple cores and distributions nodes as well as thousands of access layer devices providing network connectivity to a large student academic campus, academical medical center, and division I sports complex. The Network Engineer Ill functions as an enterprise subject matter expert (SME) to independently develop and execute solutions to meet network project objectives. This position leverages problem and incident management techniques for solving general to complex network related problems.



Candidates should be self-motivated and able to work in both an incident response and project implementation atmosphere.
