Job Summary:
Episcopal Health Services is seeking a skilled and compassionate Neurologist to join our dynamic and growing Division of Neurology. Our department delivers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient neurological care, treating a wide spectrum of conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nervous system. You will join a collaborative team dedicated to high-quality, patient-centered care, working closely with other medical specialties to develop tailored treatment plans for our diverse patient population.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and manage a variety of neurological conditions including stroke, seizures, migraines, movement disorders, dementia, and neuromuscular diseases.
- Perform thorough neurological evaluations and manage both acute and chronic cases in inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Collaborate with the Emergency Department to provide 24/7 medical evaluations for rapid stroke intervention, including administration of rt-PA.
- Order and interpret neuro-diagnostic studies including EEGs, EMGs, and nerve conduction studies, in partnership with the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
- Utilize advanced imaging resources, including state-of-the-art CT and MRI technology, to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives and help maintain the hospital’s standards as a New York State Department of Health Certified Primary Stroke Center.
- Document all clinical activity thoroughly and accurately using the hospital’s electronic medical records system.
- Contribute to the education and mentorship of residents or medical students (if applicable).
Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology.
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Neurology residency program.
- Eligible for a New York State medical license.
- Clinical experience in stroke care and acute neurological management strongly preferred.
- Excellent diagnostic, clinical, and communication skills.
