Job Summary
The College of Nursing is looking for a Nurse Researcher Auditor to join the team! The candidate for this position must be a registered nurse in the State of Kentucky and will work out of Frankfort, Kentucky, at the Cabinet for Health and Family Services building as well as telecommute. Some travel is required. This position will work on the Quality and Waiver Assurance contract. The purpose of this contract is to improve the efficiency of the waiver assessment and auditing tools used to administer the program.
The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Provides clinical decisions, completes waiver audits, and collects valuable data to ensure research objectives are met.
- Understands and stays up-to-date on waiver regulations and associated application procedures.
- Attends professional meetings, civic meetings or other meetings to gather or distribute program or technical information
- Ensures compliance with Medicaid State Plan
- Provides support and research issues for Rural Health Clinics, Federally qualified health centers, and Primary Care Centers
- Provides support, research and technical assistance to Private Duty Nursing and Home Health providers
- Reviews determinations and provide support for the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE)
- Supports the Nurse Aide Training program including coordination with KCTS, reimbursement and support of the Kentucky Nurse Aide Abuse registry managed by Kentucky Board of Nursing Includes weekly contact and leading of monthly meetings with KCTCS
- Works within the Kentucky Level of Care system (KLOCS) to conduct research on member issues and review Level of Care
- Coordinates with the Department of Behavioral Health Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities for activities related to PASRR (Pre Admission Screening Resident Review).
- Provide assistance, support, and research as needed for complex case coordination.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Knowledge of physical and psychological development. Excellent analytical and decision making skills. Ability to communicate effectively and interact with physically disabled and elderly individuals. Ability to travel throughout the state on a regular basis with the ability to travel out-of-state for overnight trips upon occasion.

Preferred Education/Experience
Associates in Nursing degree or higher. BSN preferred. Prefer experience working with the elderly and physically disabled. Driver’s license is highly desired due to extensive travel.
