Required License/Registration/Certification

Registered Nurse (RN) and must advance on UKHC Nursing Professional Advancement (NPA) within 6 months of hire and annual resubmission required throughout employment in this job title.



Physical Requirements

The physical requirements for this position include regularly sitting, standing, walking, with some pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects weighing up to 10lbs and occasional pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects up to 50lbs.



Shift

40 hours per week with shifts available Monday–Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., and Saturday–Sunday between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m



Job Summary

This position is located off-campus in Lexington, KY at UKHC KY Clinic South.

The Nurse Team Lead provides care to a group of pediatric patients in general pediatrics and acute care, including patients in Pediatric Twilight, while also providing direct supervision to assigned nursing staff.

Key responsibilities include performing skilled assessments, developing and implementing care plans, delivering patient education, and providing clinical evaluation and interventions. This role also involves direct supervision of nursing staff to ensure adherence to clinical protocols and to support their ongoing professional development.

The Nurse Team Lead serves as a liaison between frontline staff and clinic leadership, facilitating effective communication, coordinating workflow, and driving performance improvement initiatives.

Success in this position requires close collaboration with medical professionals working under time-sensitive conditions in an ambulatory care setting, with a strong emphasis on quality, safety, and patient-centered service. A solid working knowledge of enterprise, nursing, and departmental policies, protocols, and procedures is essential.
