Position Summary:We are looking for a part-time Nutritionist to work with one of our physicians and APC's in our Spanish Fork office. This position will Provide nutritional guidance by assessing the nutritional needs, diet restrictions and current health conditions of patients and helps develop and implement dietary-care plans in a clinical setting. Provide nutritional counseling to help patients achieve the best possible outcomes. Consult with physicians, clinical experts and educators to determine the best nutrition therapy care plan. This person will be an integral part of the healing team and are able to make a difference in the lives of those they serve. This clinic focuses specifically on metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, and GLP-1 therapies the nutritionist should be well-versed in low-carbohydrate options.
Essential Job Functions: 1. Provides explanations for food and nutrition issues 2. Establishes proper meal and exercise plans for the patient in accordance with their preference, health, and financial capabilities 3. Evaluates the health and diet needs of patients 4. Calculates patient nutritional requirements 5. Analyzes nutritional content of food 6. Educates other healthcare professionals about food and nutrition 7. Runs health promotion in the clinic and other community settings 8. Educates the patients about the need for proper dieting, its importance in disease prevention, etc. 9. Conducts dietary, nutritional, and epidemiological research 10. Develops and maintains appropriate online educational resources to share with patients 11. Collaborates with clients to establish realistic short-term and long-term health and wellness objectives and provides appropriate follow-up 12. Track client progress, document outcomes, and making necessary adjustments to diet plans
Qualifications: Bachelors in dietetics or nutrition. Three or more years full-time work experience in specialty area, or two or more years full-time work experience. Demonstrated computer proficiency.
Hours: We are looking for someone to work 8-10 hours per week, and one evening a month attending a seminar.
