Occupational Therapist
Summary: Responsibility to provide OT services to individuals who demonstrate motor, adaptive, self-care and/or sensory challenges. These services may utilize strategies to promote new or adaptive skills to develop and enhance child’s ability to participate in meaningful daily routines/activities of daily living.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Participate in team evaluations to determine eligibility and need for services.
- Participate in the development of each child’s IFSP/IEP and periodic progress reviews in collaboration with the team.
- Schedule and provides OT services according to the frequency, intensity, duration and location as identified on each child’s IFSP/IEP.
- Assist family and/or staff in the acquisition and use of selective adaptive equipment to meet child’s needs.
- Provide coaching and/or consultation services to families and staff as needed to promote progress towards outcomes/goals identified in child’s intervention plan.
- Complete discipline evaluations, develop plans of care, progress notes and other documentation as required by the OT/PT licensure board for the state of Ohio.
- Complete all documentation completed in a timely manner as prescribed by supervisor(s).
- Participate in professional development opportunities meeting all licensure and program requirements.
- Plans and implements programs to improve sensory and motor functioning to promote independence.
- Attend mandatory staff meetings, team meetings and committee meetings as assigned.
- Provides consultation to Assistive Technology staff as approved and/or directed by supervisor.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervises OT and/or COTA students as assigned
- Supervision of certified occupational therapy assistant (COTA) staff (in programs where used) in accordance with OT licensure requirements.
Qualifications: Master’s degree required for licensure in the state of Ohio for graduates after 2007. State License from the Ohio OT/PT/AT board required. Must be certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc.
Applicant must meet the additional requirements below…
- Must meet agency computer competency level requirements. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Spreadsheet software, internal network functions, and Word Processing software.
- Must hold valid State of Ohio driver's license. Must meet agency driving requirements.
- Must successfully complete all BCI/FBI background checks.
- Must meet all other agency employment requirements. Must meet all requirements as outlined on the corresponding job description.
Salary: Minimal annual $52,359, to commensurate with combined education and experience.
Hours: Exempt position; regularly scheduled for 40 hours per week
