The Onboarding Coordinator manages the end-to-end onboarding process, beginning with the applicant’s arrival at orientation through to driver activation. This role is responsible for processing driver applications accurately and efficiently, ensuring qualifications are met, and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and DOT regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with applicants to collect necessary information and documentation for Driver Qualification (DQ) files, including for company drivers, owner operators, lease-purchase, and changeovers.
  • Maintain consistent and clear communication with applicants regarding their file status via phone or in person.
  • Ensure all applications are processed accurately and completely, with all required documentation included.
  • Use designated technologies to perform three years of employment verification in accordance with FMCSR requirements.
  • Organize and review all documents for completeness prior to driver activation.
  • Adhere to all federal and state regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance and safety readiness through accurate and complete file preparation. Perform additional duties as needed to support company goals.

  • Strong computer skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written.
  • Accurate data entry.
  • Time management skills.
  • MS Word, Outlook and Excel experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Detail oriented with commitment to complete tasks in timely manner.
  • Work in fast-paced environment.
  • Work independently and as team player, ability to cross-train as back up to for others. Ability to work overtime as needed.

Education/Experience

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Prior transportation or onboarding experience is a plus.

The posted range reflects the full pay band for the position. The expected pay range below represents where most candidates are hired, based on experience, skills, and internal equity. Candidates with more extensive or highly relevant experience may be considered toward the higher end of the overall pay band.

  • Expected Pay Range: $16.41-$18.05
  • Full Pay Range: $16.41-$24.24
  • Pay Grade: 4
