Job Description

As the primary liaison, you will create a positive and stress-free atmosphere for patients and their families. Your role involves providing clear communication, offering guidance, and maintaining a welcoming space. By focusing on patient support and navigation, you will contribute to a seamless and comforting surgical experience, ensuring families feel informed and cared for throughout their time at the medical center.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and families, offering a warm welcome and an overview of the surgical process.
  • Conduct regular rounds to assess and address patient needs, providing reassurance and support.
  • Serve as a communication link between the clinical team and families, ensuring timely updates.
  • Maintain a calm and organized waiting room, ensuring it is well-equipped and comfortable.
  • Manage phone calls efficiently, reducing disruptions to clinical staff and patient care.
  • Assist patients in navigating the perioperative areas, offering guidance and a friendly presence.
  • Escalate concerns to the clinical team, ensuring a swift and appropriate response.
  • Support initiatives to enhance patient experience, providing valuable feedback.
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service, building positive relationships with patients and families.
  • Maintain a professional and empathetic approach, creating a supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate compassionately.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and multitasking skills in a fast-paced setting.
  • Experience in healthcare, hospitality, or patient services is an asset.
  • High School degree or equivalent, with fluency in English (bilingual preferred).
  • Valid driver's license and American Heart Association BLS certification within 30 days.
  • Six to nine months of patient care experience or relevant education.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in Clinical Applications (training provided).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
  • A passion for patient support and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
