Operations Floater (9 Month Position)

Summary: Provides support as assigned in the operations department. Must be available to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Maintenance Items

  • Patches plaster and prepares surface for painting.
  • Assists in painting, and/or performs minor painting of fixtures, rooms, buildings, signs, and equipment.
  • Performs exterior grounds keeping duties, (e.g., cuts grass, cleans sidewalks, and assists in snow removal, trims trees and shrubs)
  • Regular Upkeep of equipment.
  • May be on call 24 hours, 7 days a week in shifts. Will be required to work other than normal hours for snow removal, agency breaks, building inspections, special projects, and other building emergency situations.
  • Performs other special projects as required by the Director of Facilities and IT or designee.
  • Helps load and unload items using tow motor.

Custodial Items

  • Scrubs, Mops, strip waxes and finish floors. Vacuums carpets. Shampoo Carpets.
  • Empties and cleans trash receptacles.
  • Restocks all paper hygiene supplies and soaps.
  • Washes Windows, walls, fixtures, desk and tabletops, and toys.
  • Dust and polish furniture.
  • Cleans ventilation grillwork, chair rails, baseboards, light fixtures, windows sills, and fire alarm devices.
  • Maintains a neat and organized maintenance supply room. Maintains all custodial equipment and supplies.
  • Notifies Supervisor of needs and restocks supplies. Assist with ordering of supplies.
  • Assist with mail/package delivery and receiving.

Kitchen Items

  • Performs cook’s duties when assigned such as assembling supplies, equipment, and food products necessary for food prep.
  • Preparation of items on the menus.
  • Assist other cooks/food service workers as needed.
  • Food prep/service, clean up and consumer supervision for catered events.
  • Clean up assigned areas.
  • Works with Food Service Supervisor in ordering and inventory of assigned areas. Keeps stock and area in an orderly fashion.
  • Maintain working knowledge of positions in the kitchen.
  • Working knowledge of Serve Safe training.

Other Items

  • Available to drive for special events such as Special Olympics events.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Experience in basic carpentry, groundskeeping, operation of grounds maintenance equipment, mechanical abilities, preventive maintenance mind set and inventory management skills.

Applicant must meet the additional requirements below…

  • Must meet agency computer competency level requirements. Must have basic computer knowledge including but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, Word, and the ability to learn computer programs needed to complete assignments in operations department.
  • Must meet agency driving qualifications for transporting individuals on an agency vehicle. May be required to drive agency vehicles. Must hold valid State of Ohio driver’s license. Must successfully complete Van Driver Training program
  • Must obtain Serve Safe credentials after hire.
  • Needs knowledge of custodial safety practices
  • Must be able to perform work on an 8 foot ladder
  • Must be able to work other than normal shift hours as needed for snow removal, building inspections, in-services, absences within department, building emergencies, special projects and as requested by Director of Operations and IT or designee.
  • Must successfully complete a BCI background check.
  • Must meet all other agency employment requirements. Must meet all requirements as outlined on the corresponding job description.

Salary: Minimal annual salary $24,240 (to commensurate with experience)

Hours: 40 hours per week during school year; 9 month position
