
Packaging Engineer – Beverage Innovation & Commercialization
Position Summary
We are seeking a high‑performing Packaging Engineer with beverage industry experience and strong project management capability to support Proximo’s growing innovation pipeline. This role is responsible for developing, validating, and commercializing packaging solutions for both new and existing products across our spirits and RTD portfolio.

This role is central to ensuring packaging excellence, operational readiness, and flawless execution at internal and external bottling facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Packaging Development & Commercialization
- Lead the development of primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging for new product launches and renovations.
- Partner with Brand, R&D, and Marketing teams to translate consumer insights into packaging design and material selection.
- Collaborate with suppliers to create prototypes, validate materials, and establish robust specifications.
- Conduct and lead line trials at internal and external bottling facilities to ensure manufacturability and performance.
- Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date specifications for all stock and custom packaging components.
Project Management & Cross‑Functional Leadership
- Manage multiple packaging projects simultaneously in a fast‑moving environment with shifting priorities.
- Serve as a key technical partner to Quality, Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Marketing.
- Support commercialization timelines, risk assessments, and cross‑functional alignment.
- Review and approve packaging artwork to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and support P&L development for new products.
Continuous Improvement & Vendor Management
- Identify and execute cost‑savings, sustainability, and efficiency initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with packaging suppliers and co‑packers to drive innovation and resolve issues quickly.
- Stay current on packaging trends, materials, and technologies relevant to the beverage and spirits industry.

Knowledge & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in consumer-packaged goods; beverage or spirits industry strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to manage packaging development from concept through commercialization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Working knowledge of SAP (Purchasing modules preferred).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects in a high‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong creative thinking and technical problem‑solving skills.
