  • Partner with Imaging leadership on workflow design, downtime procedures, and continuous improvement; serve as the radiology technology liaison to IT.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the PACS, performing regular maintenance and conducting quality control audits.
  • Ensure the efficient storage and retrieval of medical images, implementing routing solutions and performing backups and archiving.
  • Identify mismatches in patient demographics, accession numbers, or study descriptions.
  • Reprocess or resend failed HL7 messages after validation.
  • Test message integrity, field mapping, and segment structure (MSH, PID, OBR, OBX) prior to go-live.
  • Provide tier-1/2 support for imaging apps and peripherals (viewers, dictation mics, 3D, CD import, workstations), escalating to tier-3/vendors when needed; manage tickets, SLAs, user accounts and access, as well as knowledge base articles specific to imaging/radiology.
  • Enforce security & compliance (HIPAA, access controls, encryption, patch cadence, audit trails); participate in change management and after-hours on-call for critical incidents.
  • Train end users (radiologists, techs, clinicians) on best practices; collect feedback and drive usability improvements.
  • Act as a point of contact between the radiology department, other clinical departments, and vendors to document system status during emergencies.
