Required License/Registration/Certification

Certified Paramedic
American Heart Association (BLS), ACLS and PALS certification required.



Physical Requirements

The ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50-100 pounds on a daily basis; as well as stand, walk and sit for long periods of time. The conditions of work may involve exposure to communicable diseases and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments.



Shift

Must be able to work a variety of shifts (Days, Eves, Nights, Swing).
Will work at least 40 hours / month. Will also work some holidays and weekends
per ED staffing needs



Job Summary

The Paramedic will work in the Level 1 Trauma Center to compliment the nursing role. Performs patient care duties utilizing a team approach in collaboration with RN, MD and other members of the health care team. Organizes, prioritizes, and delivers direct patient care based on determined scope of practice within the hospital setting.



Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Clinical care to include but is not limited to vital signs, insertion of IVs, NGT, urinary catheters, 12 lead EKG, wound care, suctioning and proper documentation.

Preferred Education/Experience

Two (2) years of paramedic experience preferred.
