Job Summary
Seeking an experienced manufacturing programmer / CNC Operator to deliver hands-on workforce training for incumbent workers and adult learners. This non-credit instruction is provided on-site at local manufacturing and industrial employer locations, or in campus-based labs as needed. This position is ideal for industry professionals with a strong coding background who enjoy mentoring and teaching adults as needed basis.
Job Duties:
- Teach foundational and intermediate topics in industrial/manufacturing programming, including:
- Reading, writing, and editing manual programs for CNC mill
- Reading, writing, and editing manual programs for CNC lathe
- Response to prompts
- Preparation of a conversational program
- Edit of existing conversational programs
- Reading, writing, and editing manual programs for CNC mill
- Deliver content using hands-on demonstrations, simulation panels, and real-world troubleshooting scenarios
- Reinforce safe work practices in all aspects of instruction
- Prepare and maintain instructional materials and equipment
- Communicate with Workforce Solutions team, employer partners, and learners about training logistics and expectations
- Support learners with informal assessments, real-time feedback, and coaching
Minimum Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or GED is required. A trade school certificate, associate degree, or bachelor's degree in a related technical field is a strong plus.
- Minimum 3 years of recent and relevant experience as a CNC programmer or machinist in a manufacturing environment is desired
- Extensive knowledge of G- and M-code programming for CNC mills and lathes, including program loading, verification, and editing.
- Ability to travel to employer sites within the northern KY and southern OH region
- Experience working with or training adult learners
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
