Physical Requirements

The physical requirements for this position include regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time with repetitive motion (such as typing); walking including pushing, pulling, and/or lifting up to 10lbs and occasional pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects up to 50lbs. The conditions of work may involve regular exposure to loud noises, intermittent exposure to blood borne/airborne pathogens and combative/violent people, and occasional exposure to cuts and punctures.



Shift

Day shift. Monday – Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM. Other days and hours as needed.



Job Summary

The Patient Relations Assistant position acts as a first point of contact for patients within the Kentucky Neuroscience Institute in the KY Clinic.

Position duties include, but are not limited to: customer service, patient registration and patient check-in, appointment scheduling and patient check-out, and assisting in other areas as needed. In addition, this position is responsible for anticipating patient needs, ensuring timely and appropriate follow up with patients, and resolving patient complaints in a timely manner.



Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

The ideal candidate will be skilled in communication, specifically in the ability to remain calm and helpful during emotionally stressful moments or crises. As someone responsible for employee records, attention to detail is critical to ensuring patient record accuracy. The ability to work in a collaborative environment with a teamwork mindset. The ability to follow processes and process data entry records. Respect for confidentiality; be able to prioritize tasks efficiently; and work in multiple systems simultaneously.
