Description:

The Semmes Murphey Clinic is looking to add another great personality to our front desk team. This position is key to creating a seamless experience for patients when they arrive and through the checkout process. This role would be a good fit if you are friendly, dependable, and enjoy making a positive impact on patients and their families.


This is a full time, onsite, position Monday through Friday. There may be some local and regional same-day travel required to satellite offices. For a complete list of Semmes Murphey locations, please see our website.


Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Confirm patient demographic and insurance information is correct/updated in their electronic medical record
  • Interpret data on check out sheet and schedule appointments for patients according to physician-specific criteria
  • Accept co-payments and process credit cards for real-time payments; provide patients with a receipt
  • Interact and communicate professionally with patients, financial counselors, nursing staff, diagnostic imaging staff, and supervisors as needed
  • Occasionally travel to satellite clinics to preform Front Desk functions for visiting physicians
Requirements:

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare environment, which includes insurance verification

You should be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word), Internet software, web-based insurance verification software, and practice management software.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Will provide excellent customer service and has excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage difficult or emotional situations
  • Is able to communicate effectively and persuasively in both positive and negative situations, while listening and responding appropriately to questions
  • Has the ability to manage and complete various responsibilities in a timely manner within a fast-paced environment
  • Is adaptable to changes in the work environment, dealing with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality and discretion
  • Can travel locally or regionally to assigned clinic locations as required for the role
