Job Summary
- Responsible for the safe transport of patients within the hospital
- Dispatch and appropriate documentation of services
- Provides material supply delivery for a variety of departments as requested
Essential Functions
- Transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher or bed to designated sites as requested, including patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips, monitors and other equipment
- Assists patients with entering and exiting vehicles, including transfer from or to wheelchairs or stretchers
- Delivers equipment and specimens to requesting staff or department
- Assists staff with removal of deceased bodies from units and transport to morgue
- Greets and provides information and direction to patients and visitors
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent - Preferred
Licenses/Certifications
- Certified Medical Assistant Licensure Preferred
- Current Georgia licensure as a Certified Nurse Aide Preferred
- EMT -B Certificate of completion of course work Preferred
- Pharmacy Tech Cert Preferred
- Completion of Nursing Fundamentals in Lieu of CNA Licensure Preferred
- EKG or ECG course completion certificate

- BLS - Basic Life Support Certification - REQUIRED
Minimum Work Experience
- Previous hospital or nursing home experience - Preferred

- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must bevable to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
