Job Summary

The Payroll Analyst II provides support for the Payroll Tax functional area within Payroll Shared Services.

Administers and maintains state tax setups to ensure accurate withholding and remittance in compliance with applicable state laws.

Researches and interprets Department of Labor (DOL) requirements for various states and communicates findings to the Manager of Payroll Tax and Remittances to ensure organizational compliance.

Assists in the accurate processing of federal, state, and local tax withholdings.

Supports the preparation and distribution of W-2 forms, including associated reconciliations and adjustments.

Reconciles payroll liability accounts and prepares journal entries as needed.

Coordinates the issuance of payroll tax payments and supports other activities associated with the Payroll Tax functional area.

Participates in testing, implementation, and upgrades related to payroll tax processing in PeopleSoft.

Provides reporting support as needed and serves as a backup to the Manager of Payroll Tax and Remittances.

Collaborates with team members across Payroll Shared Services and Benefit Operations to ensure efficient service delivery.

Performs other related duties as assigned, within the scope of Payroll Shared Services and Benefit Operations.

Positions with the KCTCS System Office located in Versailles, KY are term-contract positions, with the expectancy of continuance based on performance.

KCTCS offers a hybrid work schedule with a requirement to be onsite a minimum of 3 days per work week. Hybrid work schedules are subject to periodic review and may be modified or terminated at any time.

Job Duties:

Review, audit, and assist with remittance of federal, state, and local payroll taxes for all KCTCS employees and all ancillary processes associated with payroll tax withholdings.

Prepare payments associated with payroll withholdings.

Provide support for PeopleSoft upgrades and implementations through testing system inputs and outputs.

Provide customer support.

Provide support to the payroll organization and Payroll Manager. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and three (3) years of relevant experience or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and five (5) years of relevant experience or equivalent.
