As our People & Culture Intern, you’ll spend the 2025–2026 NBA season supporting the core functions of our People & Culture team—including HR operations, talent acquisition, and systems and process improvements. This internship offers hands-on exposure to the day-to-day work of a People & Culture team, including data integrity, recruiting coordination, internal documentation, and policy support—all while learning the skills to become a trusted partner to people leaders and employees.
About the Internship:
- Internship Duration: August 26, 2025 to April 24, 2026, with the potential for an extension.
- Part-time Commitment: Expect to work an average of 28 hours per week.
- Location: Portland, Oregon; this is an on-site role, not remote.
- Industry: Dive into the dynamic world of Sports & Entertainment, gaining exclusive behind-the-scenes insights into what it truly means to be part of the team behind the team.
As our P&C Intern, you will:
- Monitor the P&C inbox and respond to basic inquiries, escalating requests to the appropriate People & Culture team members.
- Support the integrity of employee records by assisting with data entry, validation, updates, and regular audits.
- Help with job postings, candidate interview scheduling, and pre-boarding coordination.
- Assist with projects that enhance HR systems and internal processes, including documentation updates and workflow improvements.
- Support the creation and organization of internal resources such as SOPs, training tools, and reference materials.
- Generate simple reports and queries to assist in data-driven decision making.
- Collaborate with team members on cross-functional People & Culture initiatives.
- Shadow and learn from P&C team members to build foundational skills in employee support, people advising, and HR business partnership.
- Gain exposure to how P&C partners advise managers and support employee needs, helping build the foundation for a future HR generalist or business partner role.
- Support communications and interactions between the People & Culture team and employees/managers to better understand the role of HR as a strategic partner.
- Participate in team check-ins and HR meetings to observe how People & Culture professionals support, coach, and collaborate with leaders and staff.

- Are pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or a related field—or have equivalent work experience.
- Can handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.

- Are highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Are curious and willing to take initiative in improving processes.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Are proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Are available to work a flexible schedule, which could include office hours, Trail Blazers home games, and evening/weekend responsibilities.
