Required License/Registration/Certification
Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician by either PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT); Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.
Physical Requirements
May include standing or sitting for greater than five hours at a time and possibly walking several miles per day. May require the ability to reach items above shoulder level and lift up to 25 pounds.
Shift
Typically 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday, between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm. Target shift is an 8 hour paid shift working 40hours per week. Primary schedule to be discussed during interview. May include some weekend shifts and holiday shift requirements per departmental needs.
Job Summary
In addition to pharmacy technician duties of drug distribution, customer service, filling, billing, and dispensing, the pharmacy senior technician II procurement tech is responsible for placing orders daily for all products via multiple systems (Cardinal.com, Cardinal OrderExpress, ScriptPro, SAP, WAM or phone). They are also responsible for returning product as necessary to vendors. They will assist the Manager, Pharmacy Supply Chain with the pharmaceutical recall process as needed. Skills necessary for this responsibility include knowledge of ScriptPro, WAM, 340B inventory management, and Cardinal Order Express among others. The pharmacy procurement tech is responsible for maintaining good relationship with vendors and drug representatives and also responsible for maintaining backorders with multiple vendors and systems. The buyer will interface with the Inventory Steering Committee for communicating important information regarding current shortages.

This position requires dependability and the ability to prioritize. The successful candidate must be reliable and demonstrate excellent attention to detail.

Preferred Education/Experience
Associate or bachelor’s degree and hospital and/or retail pharmacy technician experience preferred.
