Required License/Registration/Certification

Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician by either PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT); Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.

Physical Requirements

This position requires use of a computer workstation, completion of tasks with repetitive motions, and occasional pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds. This position may require personnel to wear personal protective equipment to reduce risk of exposure to work-related hazards (e.g. handling of hazardous medications).

Shift

Night shift 1930-0700 primarily (7 days on/7 days off). Includes some holiday requirements.

Job Summary

The Pharmacy Senior Technician assists pharmacists in providing medications to patients in an inpatient hospital setting by compounding complex sterile and non-sterile products and participating in the delivery of comprehensive pharmaceutical care to pediatric patients. Adheres to USP795 and USP797 guidelines. Other areas of responsibility include communication with nursing, medication delivery, Pyxis management, and inventory management. Areas of service include the Pediatric Satellite Pharmacy.
